Free Kindle Cook books today

Here are a few I thought looked interesting. LOL

 Several of the ones I posted the other day are still free.  So grab them too while you are at it.

These are all historical in nature and should be interesting to read.  The first one is the "Whitehouse cookbook" from the 1880's but it also goes into other things as well like housekeeping, etiquette  and such.


Okay this one is really interesting.  It also is from the 1800's and it looks like even back then women were looking for recipes and menus that were economical.  It is an interesting read.



This one is from the early 1900's and again very interesting insight into the day.



Now this one is quite interesting and I will be reading this one from cover to cover.  I think it is more a novel than cookbook It was written in 1898.

As you can notice I am struggling with the sweets this time of year.  I want to bake and cook sweet things but I also want to eat healthy and don't want to gain any more weight.  I am way big enough and don't need any extra.  I am also always looking for things that are quick and easy to fix but good for you kinds of foods.

Free Kindle Cookbooks for Today, 12-5-12

These free Kindle editions caught my eye today.  As with any item please make sure that you check the price  before checking out.  These were free at the time I posted this but the prices can change any time. If you don't have a Kindle app or a Kindle, don't worry.  You can get the app for your computer or read it "in the cloud".  I don't have a Kindle but I do have the app for my phone, on my computer and on our tablet.  I often read these books and use the cookbooks on my computer and I love that I can read "in the cloud" because that means I can take these books with me camping.

Maggiano's Little Italy

Yes, I am going to do a "plug" for this awesome restaurant.

I love Maggiano's!!!  I love their food and I love the atmosphere.  I also love that I can go with my husband and spend $39 for a Meal for Two.  You get an appetizer, two salads and two pasta entrees and a dessert to share all for $39.  What makes it quite the deal is that you get to bring home two additional pasta entrees for FREE!!  Yes that means that you do not only get a great meal in the restaurant but you get another great meal for the next day.  They even tell you how to heat it up so it is perfect.

We went to Maggiano's on Monday for my birthday.  We had the leftovers from our meal last night and tonight we will have the FREE meals that they sent home with us.  So that makes three dinners for $40.  Oh did I tell you that we will be feeding our kids on this also?  Yup.  The meals are large enough that our family of 5 will eat two lasagna dinners and it will feed us all and fill us up.  I will supplement this with a salad and bread as well.

So that is what we are having for dinner tonight. What are you having?

Oh, if you are thinking about getting me something for Christmas or looking for a belated birthday gift, I am happy to receive gift cards from Maggiano's!!  ......just sayin..... ;)

I am sorry for my readers that I haven't been on this blog in a while.  I am surprised that Google continues to host these "lost" blogs.  I went to sign in yesterday and I had completely forgotten my password.  They sent me a new one and I was able to retrieve this blog and a few others I had started a long long while ago

I hope to add more to this blog and continue to use it as my own cookbook and recipe file.  If you like something try it and let me know how it turns out.
